Mary “Jane” Dutchik, 86, of Glen Carbon and formerly of Granite City passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon. She was born March 25, 1932 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Henry and Viola (Spaeth) Carey. She married James “Jim” Dutchik on September 30, 1950 and he passed away on December 16, 2006.

She had worked for H&R Block with many years of service in tax preparation and also worked for various banks throughout the area for many years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon and was active with the Glen Carbon Seniors. Jane was a resident of the Ginger Creek Villas for 11 years and was active with the homeowner’s association.

She enjoyed her days of water volleyball, reading, working with crafts and was talented with her decorating. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by four children, James Dutchik of Denver, Colorado, Joseph Dutchik of Maryville, Jennifer Carney of Granite City and Jeffrey Dutchik of Granite City; two grandchildren, Jamie Vaughn of Granite City and Dane Carney of Granite City; a sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Joseph Linhart of Collinsville; other extended family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Davisson. In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 155 North Main Street in Glen Carbon on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Father Patrick Gibbons as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
