Jeffrey P. Straw, 68, of Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away at his home on Monday, April 16th 2018. Jeff was born August 28th, 1949 in Springville, Utah to loving parents William and Sina Mae Straw. He married Linda Dunsdon on January 24, 1969 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 22, 1980 with their two sons, Jeff and Ken.

Jeff grew up in Springville, Utah and graduated from Springville High School in 1967. From there he went on to an Associates Degree in Electronics from Utah Technical School in Provo. He worked as a Master Electrician for most of his career at various companies like FMC, Bridger Coal, and Statewide Electric in Wyoming, Hughes Aircraft in California, and Geneva Steel and the Utah State Prison.

Jeff was an adventurer. He loved the mountains of Utah and deserts of Wyoming. He rode motorcycles, flew planes, and drove a UTV all over the western states.

He got his private pilot’s license in the 1980’s and loved to take his wife and family on sightseeing adventures. He built an ultralight aircraft which he an Linda loved flying around Utah “low and slow” to take in all of the gorgeous views. He loved the outdoors, camping, and riding with his family.

He taught his sons to ride motorbikes when they were very young and they both still love it. Jeff could watch the campfire all night and made a copper liquid for changing the flames green and blue. He was a brilliant man of many talents, always able to fix any vehicle or contraption.

He was constantly upgrading his 4×4, camper, and he even built the house where they live in Pleasant Grove. Jeff loved the music of the 60’s and 70’s and would often listen to classic rock while he worked. His three grandchildren would come to his shop in the garage and he would help them build go carts or play with his electronics workbench soldering parts together.

Whether going for a ride in the buggy or zipping around the garage on an electric wheelchair, it was always fun to see grandpa Jeff. We love and will miss Jeff, a great husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife Linda; his two sons: Jeffrey (Kara) Straw (Eagle Mountain, UT) and Kenneth (Milena) Straw (Logan, UT); Three grandchildren: Maryssa, Josh, Kalee; Siblings: Bill (Cheryl) Straw, Molly (Lynn) Averett, Jennae (Paul) Straw.
