Obituary for Jimmy Mitchell Bartholomew Sr. Jimmy Mitchell Bartholomew, Sr. passed away at his home in Harvey, Louisiana on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the age of 59. Jimmy was born in Buras, Louisiana to Faitha and Wilfred Bartholomew on September 24, 1958. He was a 1978 graduate of Buras High School.

He worked as an operator for Chevron for 30+ years. He was the past Grand Knight of the Buras Knights of Columbus Council 4033 and a member of the Port Sulphur Knights of Columbus Council 8703. Jimmy was also the co-founder and a life-long member of the Creole Connection Golf Club.

He enjoyed going to the casino, football, golf and food. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Faitha and Wilfred Bartholomew and his stepfather, Leroy Ancar. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Laura; son, Jimmy, Jr. (Crystal); son, Zachary, Sr. (Ashanti); daughter, Mindy (Brittany); seven grandchildren: Kardale, Jimmy, III, Lance, Zachary, Jr., Logan, Camryn and Zaria and a host of family, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, priests and parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and employees of Chevron are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 8968 LA-23, Belle Chasse, Louisiana on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM. Father Kyle Dave, Officiating.

Interment: Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Family Doctors, West Jefferson Medical Center and Tulane Cancer Center for their support. Arrangements by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil St., Gretna, LA.
