John G. Henderson, Jr., 92 of Young Township, passed on to Heaven on Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Moorehead Place, Indiana, with family by his side. Born September 21, 1925 in Elders Ridge, he was a son of the late John G. and Kathryn (Holstein) Henderson, Sr. John lived in Elders Ridge his entire life and was a graduate of Elders Ridge High School, Class of 1943. He was the owner/operator of the Richland Dairy Farm his entire life before retiring at the age of 85.

John was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Clarksburg, Saltsburg Lions Club, PA Farmers Bureau and he was past president of the former Guernsey Association. He enjoyed bowling, square dancing, working on the farm and visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers; Joseph, Robert and Carl Henderson, sisters; Margaret Lyness and Martha Allison and a grandson, Andrew Henderson. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Rena J. (Shellhammer) Henderson of Young Township, three sons; J. Frederick (Sandra) Henderson of Elders Ridge, Jerry (Christine) Henderson of Dalhart, TX and Ronald (Jane) Henderson of Mt. Joy, PA, as well as ten grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and one on the way, a sister, Helen McFarland of Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 12:30 until the hour of service at 2:00pm in the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 18 Clarksburg Road, Clarksburg with Pastor Jerry Hoch and Michael Duffalo, officiating. Burial in Ridgeview Cemetery, Saltsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 18 Clarksburg Road, Clarksburg PA 15725.
