John J. DiVito Jr. November 27, 1932 – March 16, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book WATERTOWN John J. DiVito Jr. “Proud U.S. Army Veteran” John J. DiVito Jr., 86, of Watertown, was honorably discharged into heaven on the morning of March 16, 2019 at 08:33 hours in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Gloria (Quadrato) DiVito of 64 years. John was born in Waterbury on November 27, 1932, son of the late John J. Sr. and Rose (Vozza) DiVito.

John proudly joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as Sergeant. He worked as a salesman for R&R Corrugated for over 25 years. John was also proudly a member of the Watertown Rotary Club for 25 years and a member of the Smaller Manufacturers Association.

He spent his leisure time in his garden, watching the NY Yankees with Gloria and doting on his grandchildren. Besides his wife Gloria of Watertown, John leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter; Johnna DiVito and her husband James Huk of Beacon Falls, his two grandchildren; Matthew and Kayleigh Huk, his sister; Toni Mazzetti and her husband Joseph of Waterbury, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings; Martin J., Joseph, Michael and Domenic DiVito and Mary Minnella.

Arrangements: A funeral will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019, 8:45 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to St. John the Evangelist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
