Stephen P. Stango, Sr. May 25, 1928 – March 16, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Waterbury, CT Stephen P. Stango, Sr. “Loving father & grandfather” Stephen P. Stango, Sr., 90, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Guarino) Stango. Stephen was born in Waterbury, CT on May 25, 1928, son of the late Carmine and Mary (Coppola) Stango.

He worked as an inspector for Timex Corporation for 15 years and as a supervisor for Winchester Electronics for 20 years. He later worked as a real estate agent and helped manage the Night Drop Ice Cream & Coffee. He was a Master Mason and Past Master of the Continental Lodge #76 and was also a member of the Shriners.

Later in life, he enjoyed country line dancing and going to parties. He leaves behind to cherish his memory one son, Stephen P. Stango, Jr of San Angelo, TX, two daughters, Lori Fomenko and her husband, Phil of Plantsville, Doria Bybee and her husband, David of Modesto, CA, 4 grandchildren, James Stephen Hinchcliffe, Jared Andrew Bybee, Nathaniel Stephen Charles Bybee, Eve Therese Bybee and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward, Albert, Benjamin and James Stango and sisters, Grace Patten and Rachel Chaney.

The family would like to thank the nurses at the Telemetry and VITAS Hospice units and caregivers, Ame and Tori for the wonderful care given to Stephen. Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. His funeral service is pending on Wednesday morning.

Burial with full military honors will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery.
