Jona Adria Schardan , June 09, 2001 — July 18, 2018

Jonas Adrian Schardan, 17, of Troy, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at his home. He was born June 9, 2001 in Granite City, Illinois. He attended Triad High School in Troy where he was to begin his Senior year.

Throughout his high school years, he was a member of the Science Club, Philosophy Club, French Club and was on the National Honor Society. He was an excellent student with a 4. 6 GPA who loved researching, reading, writing, classical literature, philosophy and synthetic wave music.

Jonas was very quiet to those around him but had the most loving, caring and gentle heart and soul to all. When he spoke to you, you knew what he had to say was with true meaning and very genuine. He was an active and faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church and loved volunteering with Partners for Pets in St. Jacob.

Jonas gave the best hugs that will be cherished by many. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tracy (Podshadley) and Todd Davis of Troy; his father and stepmother, Joseph and Renae Schardan of Troy; five brothers, 2d Lt Logan Davis, currently serving with the United States Air Force, Troy Schardan of Granite City, Kyle (Lindsey) Schardan of Collinsville, Trevor Davis of Springfield, Missouri and Tyler Davis of Branson, Missouri; stepsister, Stephanie Brown of Columbia, Illinois; grandparents, Terry and Sandra McCool of Hermann, Missouri and Joann Davis of Branson, Missouri; nephew, Jaxon Schardan of Collinsville; cousins, Erin McCool of Hermann, Missouri, Jana Podshadley of Denton, Texas and Jared Schardan of Caseyville; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Podshadley; great grandmother, Nell Murphy and an uncle, Jeff Podshadley.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Bethel Baptist Church, 7775 Collinsville Road in Troy on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery in Troy. Memorials may be made to Triad Foundation for Jonas Schardan Memorial Scholarship or to Partners for Pets and may be accepted at the services.
