Joseph “Joe” Doerr September 06, 1938 – January 16, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Joseph “Joe” Doerr, age 80, of Argyle, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Joe was born September 6, 1938 in Argyle to the late Bernell and Leone (Rose) Doerr. He married Barbara Henry on June 20, 1959 in Argyle.

Joe worked road construction for 10 years then got a job at Marlette Homes where he stayed for more than 17 years. He continued to work as a carpenter until his retirement. For the last 14 years, Joe and Barbara have been able to escape the winter weather by going to Florida.

Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing euchre and spending time with his family and friends. Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; four children, Diane (Brad) Zentgrebe, Dale Doerr, Darlene (Michael) Doerr-Dyda and Donny (DeÈtte) Doerr; eight grandchildren, Christine (Ryan) Champagne, Aaron (Lacy) Zentgrebe, Scott Doerr, Michelle, Lindsay and Nicole Dyda, Derek (Kayla) Doerr and Danelle (Colton) Raper; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Maxwell; one brother, Jim (Judy) Doerr; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Jennifer Doerr; two brothers, Fred and David Doerr; and his twin sister, Joan Osantowski. The Family will receive visitors from 2-8 PM Monday, January 21, 2019 and from 10 AM until the time of service Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky with Reverend Michael Smith officiating.

Burial will take place in Argyle Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the the Family Discretionary Fund. Friends may share an online condolence at www.
