Obituary for Julie Ann Krueger Julie A. Krueger, 67, of Clarks, Nebraska died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Bryan East in Lincoln. Memorial services are Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Mark Hartley officiating. There will be no visitation.

Burial of ashes will be in the Bureau Cemetery by Pierce Chapel immediately following the memorial service. Memorials are suggested to the Central Nebraska Humane Society in Grand Island. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.

soltwagnerfuneral.com. She was born on April 17, 1951 to Lyle and Carol (Peck) Rieken in Fullerton, Nebraska. She moved as a child to a farm northwest of Central City where she attended Gardener Country School.

The family moved to Clarks in 1966 where Julie attended Clarks High School, graduating in 1969. After high school, Julie worked various part-time jobs including Litzenberg Hospital and was a cook at Merrick Manor for several years. She enjoyed cooking and loved caring for animals.

She was known for her compassionate ways when it came to animals, especially dogs. Julie met Ron Krueger in Hastings, Nebraska and they were married on March 27, 1974 in Curtis, Nebraska. They were self-employed and worked side by side for many years in their fertilizer business.

Julie and Ron dearly loved their only nephew, Mike Rieken who as a child visited often. Julie was baptized and confirmed Methodist and attended church until her disability no longer allowed her to. Julie is survived by one brother- Steve and Judy Rieken of Clarks, NE; one nephew- Mike Rieken of Wahoo, NE; great niece- Amaya Friesen of Lincoln, NE; aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends- Alice and Alexandria Skaggs; and Maureen Stearns.
