Beloved wife, cherished mother, devoted grandmother and sister, Katherine (Williams) Wales, age 77, passed away at her home in Marshall, Texas on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Katherine was born on June 13, 1941 in Center Ridge, Arkansas to Sigle and Nellie Williams. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and their spouses, Thomas Rush and Judy Williams, Poley Eugene and Delores Williams, Lodis Lee and Bessie Williams, Margire and O’Neal Barnes; her nephews, Bobby, Hank and Jimmy Emery, Jeremy Money, Lodis Dale Williams and brother-in-law, Edgar Emery, Sr. Katherine is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 54 years, Francis Eugene Wales; her children, Marlin Eugene Wales, William Jonathan Wales and his wife, Amanda Louise, and Elizabeth LeAnn Wales; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Karen Hannah Wales, William Dean Wales, Alisa Renata Murchison and Joseph David Murchison.

Katherine was so proud of her children and grandchildren and it was an honor to call her our Mom and Grandma. She is also survived by her siblings, Lois Julia Holder, Josephine Toddy and her husband, Willie, Shirley Jean Wilson and her husband, Steve, Brenda Sue Cole and her husband, Danny and numerous other family members and friends who loved her. Katherine was a dedicated caregiver to the elderly and anyone who needed her.

She started working in the health care field in the late 1960’s in Butte, Nebraska; attended beauty school in the late 1970’s; relocated to Marshall in 1988 where she returned to doing what she loved…providing health care. Katherine worked at Colonial Park Nursing Home and later opened her own home health care business in 1994. She provided loving care in her own home for many years, then provided private home health care sitting for those in need.

Katherine had the kindest heart in the world and taking care of people was the joy in her life. She loved her work and loved her patients and their families, often working around the clock to see to others’ needs before her own, but her true passion in life was her grandchildren. Katherine’s life was well lived and she was well loved by so many who were blessed by her care and friendship.

She was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother and it was honor to have her as a mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 6-8pm.

Funeral Service will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 2:30pm with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Colonial Gardens Cemetery.
