JANESVILLE— Katherine A. Ellis, 65, of Surprise, AZ, and formerly of Edgerton and Janesville, climbed the stairway to heaven on Monday, April 23, 2018. She was born on September 10, 1952, in Madison, the daughter of Edward and Irene (Buar) Schmidt. She married Roger D. Ellis on April 28, 1973, in Brighton, MI.

Katherine was a fun loving Wife and Mother. She liked to do crafts, play with her granddaughters, cribbage, and traveling in their RV. Katherine is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roger Ellis of Surprise, AZ; daughter, Melissa (Mike) Diers of Janesville; 2 granddaughters, Katlyn & Kendra Diers; son, Markalus (Sierra) Griffin of Surprise, AZ; 3 sisters: Sharon Rook of Waunakee, Karen (Danny) Wright of Evansville, and Carol (Al) Smith of Juneau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Irene Schmidt; daughter, Irene Griffin; and son, James Ellis. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 27, 2018, in MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL with Rev. Kevin Dooley to preside.

Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Mausoleum. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for lasting expressions of sympathy be made to the family.

She is greatly loved and missed and will always be remembered. Go with God Katherine, until we meet again. I only have a picture now, a frozen piece of time, to remind me of how it was, when you were here and mine.
