JANESVILLE—David A. Messner, age 51, completed his journey to his beloved parents on April 7, 2018, at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born in Janesville on February 19, 1967, to Richard and Darlene (Arneson) Messner. He was a fighter from day 1 of his life!

He beat the odds so many times during his lifetime. He graduated from Parker High School in 1988 and worked for Kandu Industries and later Riverfront (APTIV). David is survived by his sister, Debra Edgar; niece Kayla Edgar; and special friend, Joan Brandt.

He was preceded in death by his Mom in 2012 and his Dad in 2015 along with grandparents and numerous Aunts and Uncles. “There were so many people who helped make his life the best it could be. Foremost were my parents, they fought for him right from the beginning until the days they passed.

I can’t even begin to thank the people enough who helped David and I after my Dad passed away. Ginny Oldenburg, you have been there with me through Mom and Dad passing, and now David. The entire Riverfront (APTIV) staff, particularly from the Afton house, Dawn and Adele.

The Agrace Hospice staff, especially Erin, Jill, and Laura. The care he received at Agrace Inpatient for the short time he was there was amazing. They made his last days comfortable and peaceful”.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH with Mae Jean Zelle officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran.
