Schaefer, 59 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake. She was born April 26, 1959 in Lorain, Ohio. Kathleen received her LPN license from St. Joseph School of Nursing.

She was employed a various nursing homes as a LPN. Survivors include her brothers Douglas (Pam) Schaefer and Ronald Schaefer both of Elyria and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley Joseph and Virginia E. Schaefer (nee: Vargo).

Graveside services will be held at Friday, January 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Cleveland Avenue Cemetery, Amherst. The Rev. Joe Smith, pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Amherst will officiate.
