Obituary for Lillian Crocker Jones Lillian Crocker Jones died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her children and family on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the age of 90. Born February 10, 1928 in New Orleans, she was the youngest of four children born to Lillian Mathieu and renown educator Lawrence D. Crocker. An alumnae of Xavier Prep High School and Howard University, she married Dr. William M. Jones in 1950.

She was an elementary school teacher beloved by students, a New Orleans socialite cherished by friends, and a graceful matriarch adored by her family. She will be deeply missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers: Dr. Cyril Crocker; Lawrence D. Crocker Jr.; and Dr. Albert Crocker.

She is survived by her five children: Judge Robert E. Jones II; William M. Jones Jr; Lawrence C. Jones (Cheryl); Dr. Steven D. Jones (Joanitt); and Lisa C. Jones. She also leaves nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 4700 Pineda St, New Orleans, LA, on Friday, August 31, 2018, at 11:00 am.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Words of remembrance by family will be at 10:45 am. Interment: St. Louis Cemetery No.
