Obituary for Mary L. Smith Mary L. Smith, 93, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. She was the wife of the late Theodore F. Smith. Mary was born in Philadelphia on April 26, 1925, daughter of the late Edwin and Mary (Mullen) Livingston.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in York. She was an excellent seamstress, making her own wedding dress and wedding, Easter, and prom dresses for her family members. She enjoyed traveling.

Her most memorable trip was a cruise to Bermuda with her grandson. She loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Theodore “Ted” J. Smith and his wife, Patricia of York; grandson, Theodore Jeffrey Smith and his wife, Laura of York; great granddaughter, Jordan E. Smith; two sisters, Gloria Talone and Francis Dockray; brother, Donald Livingston and his wife, Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin, Jack and Thomas Livingston; and two sisters, Margaret Livingston and Ann Meehan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York, PA 17402 with Father James T. Menkhus as Celebrant. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will follow the service in Mount Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Hospice of Central PA Development Department, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
