Viewing times will be Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan.

19, at 11:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Crowson officiating. A private committal service will follow. Mary Margaret (Browne) Crowl was born on Aug.

11, 1937 in McAlester to Freddie and Ruy (Howell) Browne. She was married to Lew Crowl over 60 years ago. Lew preceded her in death in 2016.

Mary was active in volunteer work in McAlester, including Meals on Wheels, Hospital Auxiliary, New Covenant Academy and Will Rogers Elementary School as a classroom volunteer. She also assisted her husband, Lew, with various community projects, such as the Puterbaugh House and the Gerrard Ardeneum. Mary is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Crowl and her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Kathy Crowl; Jeff and Kristina Crowl; and Jerry and Victoria Crowl.

Her grandchildren include Jamie McAlester and husband Matthew, Jacy Godsey and husband Taylor, Nicole Stanfield and husband Dane, Madelyn Crowl, and Keenan Crowl, and her great grandchildren are Garrett and Hayden McAlester. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Ruyana and Gary Fugitt. The family would also like to acknowledge Mary’s special friend, Alice Ann Ketchum and her caregivers, Connie Adams and Phillis Johnson.

In addition to her husband, Lew, she was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her granddaughter, Jacquelyn Kristine Crowl. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to McCalls Chapel, 13546 CR 3600, Ada, Ok.
