Mattie Pearl Dixon September 30, 1940 – March 16, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book WOLCOTT MATTIE PEARL DIXON “Loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt” Mattie Pearl Dixon age 78 of Wolcott went home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 16, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mattie was born September 30, 1940 in Farmville, NC a daughter of the late William “Willie” and Sarah (Atkins) Fields. She was educated in Farmville.

Mattie move to New Haven in 1970 and subsequently to Waterbury in 2006. Prior to her retirement, Mattie was employed at Gant Manufacturing in New Haven. She also worked as a housekeeper for many years.

Mattie enjoyed reading her bible, going to church and listening to Gospel music. Her love for the Lord and concern for others was her gift. Rest in peace mother.

She leaves her daughters Wanda Dixon of Waterbury, Patricia Ofili and her husband Augustine of Naugatuck, Sylvia Dixon-Hall and her husband Michael of Waterbury, Gloria Dixon of Waterbury, Sheila Dixon of Waterbury, her brother William “Bud” Fields of NC, her sister Elizabeth Streeter of Cary, NC, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son Carl Douglas Dixon Jr. her brother Bobby Ray Fields and a sister Christine Lane. Arrangements: Funeral services for Mattie will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.

Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
