Mildred Lorene Simmons January 01, 1928 – November 14, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Mildred Lorene Simmons, 90, of Blanchard, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at her home. The daughter of David Vernon Solomon and Fannie James (Cross) Solomon, she was born January 1, 1928 in Marlow, Oklahoma. Mildred married Gene Simmons on December 8, 1945 in Wellington, Texas.

She was a member of Trinity Holiness Church in Blanchard. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and cooking. Her specialty was making fried pies, and she made them for many family gatherings and church fellowships.

Mildred was a hard worker and spent many years, working alongside her husband cutting down trees, chasing cows, or doing anything else that needed to be done. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Dollie Worden, Jewell Bible, Leona Harbin, and Opal Adams; seven brothers, Charlie, Preston, Buddie, Spencer, Roy, Vernon, and Amos Solomon. Mildred is survived by her husband of nearly 73 years, Gene Simmons, of Blanchard; three daughters, Linda Pierce of Claremore, Connie Wood and her husband, Donnie, of Blanchard, and Angela Maynard and her husband, Jim, of Blanchard; seven grandchildren, Jeff Greenfeather and his wife, Teena, of Bluejacket, Cynthia Greenfeather of Bristow, Greg Wood and his wife, Anna, of Hanford, California, Trent Wood and his wife, Mandy, of Blanchard, Melonie Maynard of Blanchard, Darren Maynard and his wife, Brittney, of Blanchard, and Amanda Maynard of Blanchard; twelve great grandchildren, Lane, Houston, Shavonna, Austin, Chloe, Kamryn, Kate, Callie, Levi, Luke, Logan, Lawson, and one more on the way; three great-great grandchildren, Blaine, Brantley, and Kreek; a special friend that she loved like a son, Kenny Hood and his wife, Lisa of Fletcher; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Trinity Holiness Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
