Michalena “Millie” Rose (Piscitello) Gentile, 90, of Gloucester, wife of the late Rosario “Rosie” John Gentile, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 13, 2018 in the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester with her loving family at her side. She was born in Gloucester, MA on August 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rosalie (Cianciolo) Piscitello. Millie was the tenth of their eleven children.

She attended Gloucester schools and met and fell in love with Rosario “Rosie” Gentile. They were married and raised five children. Millie was a great cook, baker, loved to knit and crochet and was quite fond of Bingo.

She had worked for Cyrk as well as in the Gloucester High School cafeteria. Millie also volunteered at Port O’ Call. The Mother of Grace and the Madonna Del Rosario Society were clubs she attended for many years.

Homemaking was her specialty, but her greatest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by her large family and friends.

While she was staying at Seacoast you could find Millie entertaining the other residents and workers with a song or two, because she loved to sing. She is survived by her children, Anthony Gentile and his wife Lesley, Donna Misuraca and her husband Tom, Joanne Waalewyn and her husband Jan, John Gentile and his wife Robin, James Gentile and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Michael Gentile and his wife Milery, Erika Lea and her husband Alex, Brian Misuraca and his wife Caterina, Kyle Misuraca and his wife Anne, Hilary Cooney, Melissa Francis and her husband Mike, Alexandria Gentile, Elizabeth Gentile; ten loving great grandchildren, sister Frances Piscitello, sisters-in-law Mary Crowley Gentile, Mary Linquata Gentile and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Charles, Joseph, Augustine, Peter; sisters, Ida, Mary, Rose, Florence and many loving sisters and brothers in law.

Her visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 16 from 4-7 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home on Saturday, November 17 at 8:45 a.m. followed by her mass being celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect, Gloucester at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
