Magnussen, 79, Lake Mills, died on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on March 23, 1939, the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Strey) Goers. In 1957 she graduated from the Lake Mills High School and later earned her LPN degree from Madison Technical College.

Nancy married Gary Magnussen on September 19, 1958. She had been employed by the Lake Mills Doctors office, assisted and managed the family farm, and was a hostess at the Pine Knoll Supper Club for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul Ev.

Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, AMPI, Brown Swiss Association, and was an auction clerk. Nancy enjoyed trying new things and was very handy. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, cooking, baking, and doing puzzles.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gary; their children, David of Lake Mills, Dawn (David) Scheel of Marshall, Doug (Michelle) of Lebanon, IL; two grandchildren, Kyle (Ashley) Scheel, Lauren Magnussen; one great grandson, Rhett Scheel; one brother, James Goers of Cambridge; one sister, Lois (Hulin) Staton of Muskogee, OK; other relatives and friends. Also preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Goers, Richard Goers and three sisters, Irma Christianson, Betty Pranke, Margo Goers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the St. Paul Ev.

Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the church and also after 10 a.m. at the church until the time of service. If desired, memorials may be made to Jefferson County Humane Society or to the church.
