Paul Joseph Whipple January 01, 1928 – January 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Paul Joseph Whipple, 91 years of age, and a resident of Grafton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Keystone Pointe following a long and blessed life. Paul was born on January 1, 1928, in Granville, PA, where he was raised and graduated from Troy High School. He lived in various locations in NY as well as Sebring, FL, before moving to Grafton, Ohio in 2011.

Paul attended seminary for one year before enlisting in the US Air Force where he proudly served his country during World War II. Paul served the Lord as a manager of Maranatha Retirement Village in Sebring, FL for 12 years and eventually became a full time resident and volunteer at the facility. He had a heart to serve the Lord behind the scenes and went on several mission trips.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange. He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years Allegra Whipple (nee: Rowe); his sons David (Diana) Whipple of Grafton; Donald (Sue) Whipple of Lagrange; Dennis (Darselle) Whipple of Fort Wayne, IN; and Steven (Nancy) Durwachter of Huntington, IN; his daughters Susan Louise Whipple of Hiram, GA; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter and her husband Michael Ann and Mike Ingerham; his grandchildren Lori, Amy, and Matthew; his sisters Irene Gardner and Esther Thur; as well as his parents Joseph and Louise Whipple (nee: Rodebaugh).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Lagrange, 200 Church St., Lagrange, Ohio 44050. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Bethesda Outreach Ministries International (www.
