Obituary for Phyllis T. Kos Phyllis T. (Cichonski) Kos, 91, a longtime resident of Chicopee and winter resident of Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2018. Born Phyllis Theresa Cichonski in 1926, daughter of the late Michael and Salomea (Koczwara) Cichonski, she attended St. Stanislaus School and graduated from Cathedral High School. As a young girl, Phyllis was a member of the 4-H Club, where she developed her artistry in sewing, knitting, baking, and canning.

She was an active communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr, and a longtime member of the Rosary and St. Vincent de Paul Societies, and the Sodality of Mary. She worked for ten years in the editorial department of H.R. Hunting book publishers, and later in life she was an executive secretary for General Instrument Company. She was also past president of the Queen of Poland Society of the Polish Roman Catholic Union.

Phyllis enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, where her favorite activity was reading a good book while basking in the sun. She loved to cook for her family and one of her greatest joys was being with her grandchildren. Phyllis was predeceased in 1997 by her beloved husband, Edward Mieczyslaw Kos, and is survived by her loving children, Joseph Kos of Norwalk, CT, Sally Harrison of Sarasota, FL, and Theresa Neece of Chicopee; seven cherished grandchildren who were adored by their “Baci”, Matthew Harrison and wife Vlada, Sarah Boardman and husband Graham, Andrew Harrison, Stephen Kos, Melanie Neece, Emma Davis-Kos, and Sofia Davis-Kos; three cherished great grandchildren, Penny and Emma Boardman, and Yana Harrison; son-in-law, Jeffrey Neece of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Emily, Steve and Longin Cichonski. Funeral services will be held Saturday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Calling hours are Saturday morning from 8:30-9:45AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund of St. Stanislaus School, 534 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Upcoming Events Visitation 2018 JUN 9.
