Obituary for Randall Hansen Randall “Randy” B. Hansen, 77, of Hummelstown, and formerly of Princeton, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his home. Born in Kewanee, IL, on February 12, 1941, he was the son of the late Boyd and Francis Cole Hansen. Randy retired from the Illinois State Police with 30 years of service.

He attended Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL, and received an Associate’s Degree from the Illinois Valley Community College, Oglesby, IL. Randy was an U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey, and a former member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, IL.

Randy was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Illinois State Police Retirement Association. He found true enjoyment in being outdoors running and biking, and was an avid reader. Randy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary C. Wessel Hansen, whom he married on April 19, 1969; two daughters, Michelle M. Hansen-Flaherty wife of Michael of Las Vegas, NV, and Kelly R. Hansen-Brandenburg of Hummelstown; five grandchildren, Molly M. Brandenburg, Cole R. Brandenburg, and Cooper T. Brandenburg all of Hummelstown, and Reagan M. Flaherty and Drew K. Flaherty both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Paul Hansen of Peoria, IL.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Fr. Kenneth C. Roth as officiant.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 AM until time of the service. Military honors will be presented following the service at the funeral home. The family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
