Raymond O. Tucker, 83, of Belpre passed away September 3, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on August 30, 1935 in Winfield, WV and was the son of the late Emory O. and Hazel A. Tucker. Raymond graduated from Belpre High School and was proud to have played on the high schools first football team in 1950.

He ran track and field and was a member of the State Championship Tack Team in 1952 and held a school record for many years until recently. Raymond retired from DuPont Washington Works after forty-two years, retiring as a supervisor. Raymond is survived by three sisters Jean Nicholson-Johnson (Howard) of Parkersburg, Donna Gaston (Ted) and Linda Daugherty (Ted), both of Belpre, several nieces and nephews, and step brother Willis Neff (Wilma) of Belpre.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years Amy Ruth Jackson Tucker, son Lawrence Wayne Tucker, brothers Charles Thomas Tucker, Cleveland Tucker, sister Mary Wine and step mother Ruth Edna Pratt Tucker. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and doctors of Marietta Memorial Hospital for their skill and compassion in caring for Raymond and the family. Raymond had requested cremation with no service or visitation and the family is honoring that request.
