Richard “Mike” Norman, 59, of Cable, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center with his wife by his side. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the 82nd Airborne Division. As a truck driver, he delivered thoroughbred horses most of his life and in his later years worked as a welder.

He enjoyed working and remodeling his home and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Born August 6, 1958 in Dayton, he was the son of Richard and Pauline Norman and they survive in Springboro. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Dellinger) Norman, whom he married June 11, 2016 at their home in Cable.

He is also survived by his sons, James (Jessica) Norman of Columbus and Joe (Stephanie) Norman of Texas; stepsons, Steve (Trish) Dellinger of Milford Center and Ryan (Fiance, Jessi Spencer) Hart of Dublin; grandchildren, Emma, Sophia, Theo, Oliver, Annabelle, Lily, Ava and Tommy; a brother-in-law, Bill (Mandi) Dellinger of Plain City and a niece, Kristin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Norman in October of 2008. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Reverend Paul Schlueter will officiate and burial will follow at the church cemetery where Military Rites will be observed by the U.S Army funeral detail. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County in care of the funeral home.
