Obituary of Richard Collins Richard Wright Collins, 79, of Salisbury, died on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born on October 21, 1938 in Easton, MD, he was the son of the late Lester and Hazel Wright Collins. He was a 1956 graduate of Federalsburg High School.

Richard spent his career with C & P Telephone/Verizon Company of Maryland, retiring after 39 years of dedicated service. After retirement he served as an usher at Trinity United Methodist Church and volunteered at Joseph House. In 1995 Richard started cardiac rehab and continued participating weekly with all of his regular exercise friends.

He was an avid gardener. He enjoyed gifting his produce to friends and neighbors, often donating to local non-profits like Halo Ministries and The Christian Shelter. In addition to gardening, he also loved to travel, collect antiques and refinish furniture.

Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Leona Collins; three children, Terri Lynn Collins of Salisbury, Karen A. Catucci and her husband Kenneth of Davidsonville, MD, Michael R. Collins and his wife Lisa of Darlington, MD; five grandchildren, Anthony Catucci, Kristin Furka and her husband Christopher, Quinn Collins, Olivia Collins and Owen Collins. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Mackey and a brother, Gerald Collins.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Rev.

George Patterson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dove Pointe Foundation, P.O. Box 1610, Salisbury, MD 21802 or Trinity United Methodist Church, 112 High Street, Salisbury, MD 21801. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
