Robert’s Obituary Robert C. Rosselli, Sr., 73, Minot, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at a Minot hospital. Robert Charles “Rosie” Rosselli was born on August 22, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to Guido and Mary (Feist) Rosselli. He was raised and educated in the Detroit area before joining the Army and serving in the Vietnam War.

Robert was married to Sandra Kastner from 1978 until 2002 and to Holly Rose from 2003 to 2011. Robert had a great work ethic and worked several jobs over the years. He sold pianos for the Cortland Music Company in Cortland, OH and the Hoosier Music Company in Shelbyville, IN.

He then resided in several states before moving to Minot, where he worked for a time as a carpenter for Construction Supply and Ask, Inc., then as a mechanic for Nedrose Public School, was a service manager for Westlie Truck Center, Minot Sash and Door, Cal-Dak Cabinets and a driver for Concrete Mobile and later Strata Concrete before finding his calling as a car salesman for Ron Lowman Motors. Car racing was his true passion in life. Robert was involved in racing across the state of North Dakota and held several board of director positions.

He raced sprint cars for many years throughout the 1970’s and was the car owner of several drivers at NODAK Speedway. Robert also worked as a flagman for tracks all across the state. He was inducted into the NODAK Speedway Hall of Fame in 1994.

Robert’s children will fondly remember all the years they spent growing up attending races, picking rocks, helping their dad flag, and concessions. They all held a little different role. Kristi took the wheel for a few years and also announced and helped dad flag.

Steph thought it was silly to watch cars chase each other in a circle, which her father would always remind her of at every race, and Robby fulfilled Roberts’ dreams on the track as he continues their love of racing. Robert was a member of the NODAK Race Club, McLean County Speedway, Williston Basin Speedway, Geographical Center Speedway, Northern Pro IV Racing Association, and the Knights of Columbus. Robert is survived by his children: Kimberly Smith, Ohio, Kristi Rosselli, Minot, and Steph Rosselli (Todd Thomas), Minot, and Robby Rosselli, Jr., Minot; grandchildren, Taiylor Weigel (Mark Hunter), Taiyton Weigel, Azure Morales, Teagan Thomas, Amara Rosselli, and Michael Utterback; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several relatives. Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church in Minot. Visitation: Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Minot.

Interment: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Karlsruhe, ND, at a later date. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Robert C. Rosselli, Sr. Memorial Fund in care of Town & Country Credit Union in Minot.
