Robert S. May III, 55, of Hartford, Illinois passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from complications of diabetes at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. He was born April 1, 1963 in Alton, a son of Robert S. and Betty (Schik) May Jr. of Hartford. He enjoyed his days of gardening, riding his four-wheeler and fishing and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Joe Robins of Alton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Brian and Vicki May of East Alton and Kevin “Bo” May of East Alton; other extended family and many friends. In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held at R.J.’s Place, 418 North Delmar Avenue in Hartford on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. followed by food and an evening of family and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to a charity of one’s choice.
