Rocco Mancini December 03, 1916 – February 21, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book WATERBURY Rocco Mancini “Loving husband, father and grandfather” Mr. Rocco Mancini, 102, of Waterbury passed away peacefully, February 21, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Filomena (Corbo) Mancini. Rocco was born December 3, 1916 in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, son of the late Nicola and Teresa (Mancini) Mancini.

He was a WWII veteran of the Italian Army, and was held as a prisoner of war. He came to the United States in 1970 with his family, settling in the Waterbury area. He worked for various construction companies until working at the Wilshire Industries in Waterbury until his retirement.

Rocco enjoyed his wine, Dunkin Donuts coffee, and gardening, which he did well into his 90’s. Besides his loving wife, Filomena, of 73 years, he leaves his son, Giovanni Mancini of Waterbury, his daughter Maria Gugliotti and her husband, Mario, of Waterbury with whom he lived with, his brothers, Francesco Mancini of Waterbury and Carmine Mancini of Montreal, Canada, and his four grandchildren, Joseph Mancini of Middlebury, Rose Mancini of Wolcott, Danielle Robertson and her husband, Colin, of Staten Island, NY, and Christina Gugliotti of Waterbury. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Nicolina Mancini.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Monday, February 25, 2019, 8:30 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to our Lady of Mount Carmel Church to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
