Carmela was born in San Croce, Del Sannio, Italy on August 30, 1923, daughter of the late Sebastiano and Cristina (Catallo) Zeoli. Carmela came to the United States in 1968 with her three children to join her husband Guerino and worked for Waterbury Buckle until her retirement where she made lifelong friends.

Winemaking and drinking the fruits of her labor were a passion of hers as well.
