She was the beloved widow of Leonard S. Osowski. Lucille was born October 30, 1943 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Domenic and Millie (D’Ambrosi) Petruzzi.
She attended Slocum Grammar School, Wilby High School, and graduated from Kavula School of Hair Design. Lucille began her career as a hairdresser at the former Jose’s House of Charm in Waterbury; she had also worked at the former Jonathan’s in Watertown, and Hairbangers in Waterbury. During her career as a hairdresser she had also worked as a teacher’s aide at Watertown High School for over 18 years.
She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother who had an infectious smile and was loved by all those who were blessed to know her. Lucille was a volunteer at the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center for many years and was a communicant of Saint Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Leonard D. Osowski of Watertown, her daughter Lori Dvorak and her husband Donald of Waterbury, her beloved granddaughter Brianne Dvorak of Waterbury, her “adopted” grandchildren Domenic and Ava Genovese, her brother Donald Petruzzi and his wife Grace of Waterbury and their children, and her longtime “sisters” Betty Kovaleski, Evelyn Giuditta and Nicolina Sforza.
Lucille’s family would like to thank nurse Kathy in the ICU Waterbury Hospital for allowing Lucille to pass with great grace and dignity. Lucille heard Lenny’s call to “heat the water” and went home to join him for a cup of coffee. At Lucille’s family’s request, wearing bright, colorful clothes to her calling hours and funeral, to match her personality, would be appreciated.
