Roland G. “Rollie” Omanson, 100, of Kewanee, died April 12, 2018 at 6:40 pm at Kewanee Care Home. Roland was born February 1, 1918 in Osceola, IL, the son of James and Hildur (Rylander) Omanson. Roland graduated from Neponset High School with the class of ’36.

Roland married Mary (Cinnamon) on August 13, 1941 in Kahokia, MO, she preceded him in death on April 9, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Roger Omanson; two sisters, Esther Adams, Evelyn Frey; brother, Phil Omanson; and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Sharon Joiner.

Roland farmed all his life in Osceola, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Young Man’s Sunday School Class, and the Stark County Farm Bureau. He was a moderator, deacon, trustee for the First Baptist Church in the 80s.

He was on the Neponset Grain Elevator Board of Directors. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and was always there to lend a hand. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, April 16, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Kewanee.

Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Burial will be in the Toulon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 am, Monday, April 16, 2018 at the First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Kewanee or Preferred Hospice, 150 W. S. Street, Kewanee. Please leave an online condolence for Roland’s family at www.
