Shawna Romney Jackson March 13, 1950 – January 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Shawna Romney Jackson, 68, passed away January 25, 2019, in her Snowflake, Arizona, home. Born in Prescott, Arizona, on March 13, 1950, she was raised by her wonderful parents George Lee and Pearl Tenney Romney. Shawna married Norman Frank Jackson on July 17, 1970, in the Mesa, Arizona, Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Soon after, she graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with a minor in speech and dramatic arts and a major in elementary education with Cum Laude honors. She later worked as a substitute teacher for a few years in the Snowflake Public School System. Shawna and Norm lived in several parts of the Northwest while bearing and raising their 10 children.

For the last 35 years she lived in Snowflake, Arizona. She was a faithful, remarkable member of the church who valiantly served in many different callings in the church, but whose main calling she fulfilled with honor, the most important one, that of bearing and raising her 10 children. She has 35 grandchildren with one on the way.

The last 10 years she suffered from Parkinson’s Disease/ Essential Tremors which eventually took her life. She is survived by her mother, Pearl Romney, her two sisters: Marsha Stratton and Tami Parry, and her husband, Norman Jackson. Her surviving children are: Sharee Williams, Steve, Heather Langkilde, Shane, Josh, Holly Russell, Shawndra Andrews, Bonnie Zollinger, Shalay Emanuelson, and Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her Father, G. Lee Romney, her brother, Gerald (Jerry) Romney, and her sister, Michele Garvin. We cherish the love we have for her and will always be grateful for the memories we have of her faith, patience, service, positive, happy spirit, and true example of our Savior, Jesus Christ. A viewing will be held at the Silver Creek Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 745 Paper Mill Rd, Taylor, AZ 85939.

There will be a second viewing at the Centennial Stake Center which is located at 9th South 2nd West, Snowflake, AZ 85937 from 9 to 10:15 prior to the services at 10:30. Interment will be Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery, 400 Center St., Taylor, AZ 85939. Our grateful appreciation to Compassus Hospice.
