Obituary for William Augustus “Tommy” White William Augustus “Tommy” White, age 84, of Dry Fork, Virginia, formerly of Belfast, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2018 at Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, Virginia following a lengthy illness. Mr. White was born on June 9, 1933 in Tazewell County, Virginia to the late Buford Thompson and Minnie White. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School.

William retired after 35 years as a rural mail carrier. He was also a farmer. Mr. White was a member of the Belfast United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Casey White; and one son, Charles Thompson White. Those left to cherish his memory include Sons William S. “Billy” White and wife, Beverly of Dry Fork, Virginia Sister Mrs. Geneviene Beavers and husband, Ross of Louisville, Tennessee Brother Allen Paige White and wife, Susie of Belfast, Virginia Grandchildren Lindsey Salyers and husband, Lucas William Saunders White Great Grandchildren Layton Salyers and Cade Salyers Funeral services for William Augustus “Tommy” White will be conducted at 2 PM on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Reverend Michelle Brock officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday afternoon. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Richlands, Virginia is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy may do so online at www.
