Armin Watkins, 86, of the South Toe section of Yancey County, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Spruce Pine Brian Center. A native of Cook County, Illinois, he was a son of the late James Rufus and Florence Lucile Lane Watkins. Armin was a member of Pleasant Gap Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife: Gretchen Stidham Watkins of the home. A memorial services and burial will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Tampa, Florida at a later date. Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is serving the Watkins family.
