Betty Jean Malston, age 93, life long resident of Elwood, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Community Parkview Health & Living following an extended illness. Betty was born on December 17, 1924, to the late John and Geraldine (Cole) Reckner. Betty retired from Steven’s Spring Corp.

after several years of service. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and she enjoyed gardening, sewing and embroidering. She was a very hard worker and she was always doing ironing for some local residents.

Betty was a very loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. Betty is survived by two daughters, Vickie (Gary) Turner of Elwood and Naomi (Rodger ) Malston of Hobbs, one son, Conrad (Brenda) Dautrich of Frankton, 12 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, John Reckner, mother, Geraldine Reckner, son, Michael Dautrich, sister, Joan Leonard, and a brother, Bill Reckner. Betty’s request was to have visitation only. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.
