Carolyn Sue Ward Rasnake, age 74 of North Tazewell, VA died Monday, January 28, 2019 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital following a brief illness. She was born March 2, 1943 at McDowell, KY and was a daughter of the late Fred and Alice Gibson Ward. She was a 1961 Graduate of McDowell High School.

Sue loved to spend time with her grandchildren and cook for her family and friends. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Mud Fork Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sybil Ward Hankins and Maxie Paige; three brothers, Raymond Ward, Freddie Ward and Donnie Ward.

Those who survive to cherish her memories include her husband, Ples Arnold :Bo” Rasnake; two sons, William “Billy” Ward Rasnake and wife, April of Charleston, WV and Troy Arnold Rasnake of Bluefield, VA; one brother, Ronnie Ward of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Rasnake, Ashley Rasnake, Katlynn Rasnake and Ciara Rasnake; special pet “Stewie”; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Rasnake will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Chris White officiating. Due to inclement weather, burial will follow at a later date at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA.
