Craig Allen Quest April 28, 1977 – February 21, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card On Thursday, February 21, 2019, Craig Allen Quest, devoted husband to Misty and proud father to Caleb (15) and Payton (12) passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41 surrounded by loved ones who never left his side. Craig was born in Madison, WI on April 28, 1977. He graduated from Lake Mills High School as a member of the class of 1995.

22 years ago, in 1997, Craig and Misty started their forever relationship. While many teenage loves fizzle, their teenage love blossomed into a marriage many admire and strive to achieve. After graduation Craig went on to earn his Diesel Technician Certification from MATC in 1997.

On March 6, 2006, Craig began his career with Crystal Farms. He most recently held the title of Maintenance Manager. Before his almost 13 year run at Crystal Farms he was a Diesel Technician at Sara Lee for 12 years.

Craig and Melissa (Misty) Grossman exchanged vows on September 8, 2001. The day was perfectly overcast, a photographers dream, as they exchanged vows overlooking the Grossman Homestead uniting and completing their family circle. Together they brought two amazing children into the mix, Caleb and Payton.

This would complete their family and a busy lifestyle of parenting, coaching, and cheerleading began. He was a kind-hearted, Diet-Pepsi-with-a-splash-of-Bacardi-drinking, genuine and dedicated friend to so many who were fortunate enough to cross his path. Craig had the uncanny ability to lift you up at a time when it was most needed.

He was a gentle soul who wouldn’t let you off easy, but would not leave your side until the necessary outcome was achieved. Recently, Misty and the kids convinced Craig to dapple in the world of fostering dogs. This larger than life, tattooed man was a sight to see as he snuggled up to a fluffy terrier mix or wrestled with a beefed-up boxer on the floor.

Craig loved the outdoors. Quite often he would be joy-riding on the 4-wheeler, hitting the road on the Harley with Misty for a day trip with friends and family or enjoying the outdoors. One doesn’t get the impression that Craig hunted for himself, but rather for the delight of the people in his hunting party.

Most often Craig could be found with Caleb traipsing through the woods looking for a trophy buck or an elusive bear, or alongside Payton calling in a Tom (lets get real folks, Craig couldn’t call a turkey if he tried – Caleb had to do it), or laughing with his brothers Dustin and Damon as they scooped ice from the fishing hole hoping to hook a nice catch. The after-glow and delight on Craig’s face as he relived the day’s adventure held his audience captive. The Lakers Baseball Family, the Outlawz Softball Family and the Lake Mills Mat Club are now left with one less avid spectator, mentor and matside coach this season.

These families will miss his encouraging voice cheering on his children and the rest of the team that he so openly claimed as his own. Craig, otherwise affectionately known as “Kegger” will be incredibly missed by his wife Misty and children Caleb and Payton Quest of Milford. His parents: Larry & Barb Quest of Watertown and Troy & Patty Wegner of Lake Mills and In-laws Mike & Denise Grossman of Waterloo.

His siblings: Chad Quest of Tulsa, OK, Tricia Quest (Paul Faria) of West Warwick, RI, Dustin Wegner of Lake Mills, Damon (Ashley) Wegner of Marshall, and brother-in-law Mitch Grossman (Jenny Daniels) of Aztalan. Craig was the definition of what an Uncle should be. He leaves behind nieces and nephews: Samantha & McKenna Grossman, Elizabeth & Jacob Faria, and Bryce & Cole Wegner.

Craig is further survived by his maternal grandmother Marget Hein and grandparents-in-law Vern & Marleen Bicknell, and Loretta Grossman. He is proceeded in death by paternal grandparents Robert & Elizabeth Quest and maternal grandfather LaJune Hein. All services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 346 West Pine Street, Lake Mills, WI.

Visitation at the church will be Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 4pm – 8pm. Family and friends may also call at the church from 10am Wednesday, February 27, 2019 until the time of service at 11am with burial to follow. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future date.

If you knew Craig for too many years to remember or lucky enough to count the years on your hand – we all are left wishing we could have known him longer. Peace to you friend, may your blue cup be forever full. www.
