David Michael Hayden, 71, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born December 16, 1946, in Springfield, the son of the late George and Doris (Flagg) Hayden. David was a retired machinist having worked at Kelsey Hayes (SPECO) and McCaulley Propeller Systems.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Patricia (Hurt) Hayden, an infant brother Raymond, and his only sister Cheryl Tingley. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Michelle Hayden of South Carolina; four grandchildren: Benjamin, Hannah, Sarah and Samuel Hayden of South Carolina; five brothers: George (Carmel) Hayden of Pennsylvania, Jim Hayden and Jim Paine of Dayton, Bruce (Maureen) Hayden of Donnelsville, Dana (Diane) Hayden and Bob (Irma) Hayden both of Springfield, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Dayton National Cemetery.
