Obituary for Diane M. Schwartz Diane M. Schwartz, 70 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Celebrating Mass will be Reverend Marty Egging.

Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. There will be a Parish Rosary at 7 PM Friday.

All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Central Nebraska Humane Society. Diane was born July 1, 1948 at Great Bend, KS the daughter of Lawrence and Maurine (Pecore) Hochanadel.

She was raised and received her education at Great Bend graduating from Great Bend High School class of 1967. On June 29, 1970 she was united in marriage to Duane Schwartz. They lived in Great Bend and Hutchinson, Kansas moving to Grand Island, Nebraska in 1992.

Diane was a cake decorator at Super Saver on 2nd street, baking manager at Sun Mart and later worked in food services for the Law Enforcement Training Center and Tiffany Square Nursing Center. Living a life of faith, Diane is a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Some of her enjoyments included painting, music and K-State Football.

Her greatest joy was her family especially her grandkids. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Duane; their children, Felicia (Foster) Hitts of Marquette, Ryan (Jeanette) Schwartz of Grand Island, Nicole (Todd) Keehn of Belgrade, Mandy Schwartz of Grand Island and Blake (Elisabeth) Schwartz of Grand Island; grandchildren, Emma, Amme, Matthew, Brandon, Kaytlyn, Kayla, Blake, Memphis, Hannah, Sydney, Carol Ann, Gavin, Ava and Perry; five brothers, Dave (Lyla), Max (Opal), Don (Joy), Mark (Luann) and Gery (Joyce) Hochanadel; two sisters, Judy Flax and Mary (Doug) Smith and sister-in-law, Verlee Hochanadel. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Faith; her parents, Lawrence and Maurine Hochanadel; brother, Tony Hochanadel and sisters, Rosalie Robl, Theresa Johnson and Rita Slous and brothers-in-law, Gene Flax, Martin Robl, Bill Slous and Arlon Johnson.
