Obituary for Donna Rae Chapman Donna Rae Chapman, 74, of Fountain Hills, Az, formerly of Grand Island passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018. A Memorial service to celebrate the life of Donna will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate.

Donna was born on May 28, 1943 in Norfolk, daughter of Don and Gweneth (Steinkraus) Dunn. Donna’s memory is cherished by her husband, Marty Chapman of Fountain Hill, AZ; son Terry (Janet) Luft of Lincoln; sisters, Debbie Riener and Sherry Dunn both of Omaha; grandchildren, Brandon Benes of Lincoln, Jade Benes of Lincoln and Brandon Meyers of Golden, CO; step-daughters, Lisa Chapman-Gabriel of Los Angeles, CA, Jennifer McGowen of Coralville, IA, Amy Dunagan of St. Louis, MO, and Ann Chapman-Biegger of Lake Stevens, WA; along with numerous extended family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Kerrie Luft, and parents.

Donna spent her early years growing up in Wahoo, NE until moving with her family to Grand Island, where she graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1961. As a wonderful mother, Donna cherished her time at home with her children. When they got older she co-owned Action Property Management.

After selling the business Donna enjoyed working in customer service at Skagway. On May 1, 2001 she was united in marriage with Marty Chapman. The couple loved to travel, taking several trips to Hawaii, Florida, California until retiring in Fountain Hill, AZ in 2016.

Marty and Donna were members of the Saddle Club and Riverside Country Club while living in Grand Island. Donna was a great cook and baker; her chocolate chips cookies were a family favorite. She enjoyed taking great care in her flower gardens, her peonies especially dear to her.

Donna took pride in decorating her house with care. Not only did she redecorate often she also was known to keep an impeccably clean house. She enjoyed shopping in the local markets on her travels.

When it came to gift giving Donna could be counted on to find the perfect useful present. She always put others needs before herself. Donna’s gift of a generous spirit will be treasured always.
