Obituary for Dorothy M Frerichs Dorothy M. Frerichs, 93 of Grand Island died Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29th at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate.

Visitation will be an hour before service time. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hildreth Cemetery. Dorothy was born January 23, 1925, on a farm near Upland, Nebraska the daughter of Eilert and Emilia (Fries) Schmidt.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She graduated from Hildreth High School class of 1942 and attended Kearney State College. On January 12, 1947 she was united in marriage to Herman Frerichs in Hildreth, Nebraska.

They made their home in Bertrand, Nebraska and later in Loomis, Nebraska where she assisted her husband in the lumber business for 27 years as a bookkeeper. They retired to Holdrege in 1982. She also assisted her husband in the Phelps County Veterans Service Office in Holdrege until his death in 1984.

In April of 1993 she made Grand Island her home. Memberships include Messiah Lutheran Church, life member of VFW Auxiliary #1347 and the Platt-Duetsche. Some of her enjoyments included playing cards, reading and spending time with family.

Survivors include her son, Glenn Dale Frerichs of Grand Island, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in June 1984, her parents and twin sons. Memorials may be made to the family for future designations.
