Obituary for Sharon L. Melsen Sharon Melsen, 76, of Grand Island, passed away on May 8, 2018. A service will be held at All Faiths Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14th. According to Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be buried at the Grand Island Cemetery.

Sharon was born July 10, 1941 in Grand Island to George and Linda (Wiese) Senkbeil. She was raised on the family farm. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

Sharon graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1959. After graduation, she went to work for 18 years at Northwestern Public Service. Later, she owned an exercise club.

She enjoyed antiques and collectibles, selling them in several shops in Grand Island. She enjoyed shopping for them and loved nothing more than a good bargain. Sharon was a cancer survivor.

Survivors include her daughter, Misty (Adam) Prochaska and three grandchildren, Milena, Lida and Gus of Lincoln; a sister, Carol (Don) Daberkow, and three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Melsen on May 16th, 1975, and by her parents. Memorials suggested to the family for future designation.
