Born in Springfield on October 7, 1929, daughter of the late Anthony and Michalina (Kaluska) Chichlowski, she has resided in West Springfield since 1956. Frances was a graduate of the High School of Commerce, Class of 1947, and retired in 1993 after working many years as a secretary for Steiger’s Distribution Center.

Frances and her husband Stanley were married on September 22, 1951 in Our Lady of the Rosary Church. After moving to West Springfield they joined Holy Family parish which later held services at Mont Marie, where Frances belonged to the Rosary Altar Society and the Womens’ Club. When Mont Marie closed, Frances and Stanley became parishioners of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr, where she was an active member of the Rosary and Altar Societies and the Beautiful Years Club. She was also a valued member of the pierogi making team.

Her love of polka dancing began in her teenage years, where she would meet the love of her life, and continued through her mid eighties. Local dances weren’t enough as she and her husband took bus trips to polka weekends throughout New England, north to Niagara Falls, south to Ocean City, Maryland and even a polka cruise to the Carribean. She loved her flower garden, reading, collecting angels, preparing birthday and holiday dinners for her daughters and grandchildren and her travels to nineteen countries.
