Obituary for Garry Lynn Hess Mr. Garry Hess, age 63, of the Call Valley section of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (January 9, 2019) at his parents’ home. Born January 6, 1956 in Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of Daniel Kyle “Monk” and Lillian Maedean Hubbard Hess. He was a lifelong resident of the area, owner of Garry’s Tobacco and Deli, and a welder, having worked for S&S Corporation, Ingersoll Rand, and Joy.
Garry enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include two children, Justin Hess and April Hess, both of Swords Creek, Virginia; one brother, Darrell Hess and wife, Vickie of Blackford, Virginia; three sisters, Diana Richardson and husband, Sandy of Richlands, Virginia, Lisha Hart and husband, Mike and Jennifer Ratliff and husband, Wayne both of Honaker, Virginia; special cousin, Marleana Hubbard Perkins; special friend, Diane Hess; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caretakers, Jennifer and Wayne Ratliff, Legacy Hospice, Becky Casey, Lisa Fields and Rev.
Steve Damron. A very special thank you to Marleana Hubbard Perkins. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11: 00 AM on Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev.
Steve Damron and Rev. Toby Hubbard officiating. Entombment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon, Virginia.
Justin Hess, Cody McGuire, Derrick Reynolds, Daniel Ball, Jordan Helton, Levi Tatum, Tyler Hayes, and Johnny Burton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Richardson, Jason Hess, Dustin Ratliff, Evan Ratliff, Derrick Hart, Channing Hart, and Zachary Hart. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday.
