HAROLD E. JACOBS, 93, of Springfield, passed away at the Springfield Masonic Community on Thursday evening, November 15, 2018. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on September 21, 1925, the son of the late Wilbur and Viola (Aulls) Jacobs. Harold served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater.

He retired as a driver/salesman from Coca Cola Bottling and previously worked at Crowell Collier Publishing. Harold was an avid golfer, volunteered at Community Hospital for many years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Michael) Thompson of Findlay, Ohio and Dianne (Daniel) Kress of Springfield; brother, Samuel (Karen) Henry of Lebanon, Indiana; four grandchildren, Leeann (Dominick) Pizzuti, Matthew (Heidi) Thompson, Benjamin (Ashley) Kress, and Timothy (Lauren) Kress; nine great grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Madison, Connor, Alexis, Hudson, Bryson, Blake, and Riley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma in 1998; a sister, Lucille Ball; his twin brother, Herman Jacobs; as well as his brother, James Calvin Henry. Harold’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Grunden officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:45 a.m. until the time of service. Burial with military honors will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 712 N. Fountain Ave.
