Clouser, 96, of Darlington passed away Friday night at Franciscan Health of Crawfordsville. Hazel was born in Danville, Illinois on March 20, 1922 to Albert and Clara Ralls. The family moved to Glenwood, Illinois when she was 10, where she grew up.

During World War II she worked in a sewing factory, making uniforms, parachutes and other items needed by troops. She also loved taking care of her many nieces and nephews, along with having worked in a hardware store after the war. On a trip to Darlington in the early 1950s to visit her sister, she met Joe Clouser, who she married on January 5, 1953.

In 1957, their daughter Jo was born and in 1959, their son, Martin. In her free time she enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing and cooking. She was a member of 4Ms at Linden United Methodist Church and Blue Star Mothers of America, Indiana Chapter #3.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Clouser, with whom she shared her home, and son, Martin “Buddy” Clouser and his wife, Linda. She was preceded in death by: her husband; brother, Eugene Delbert Ralls; sisters, Margaret Bragg, Louella Flahive, Lillian Batey and Idelle Paris; step-brother/ cousin, John Mourer. Funeral services will be at 4 PM Wednesday, Jan.

23rd at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue, Crawfordsville, led by Pastor Joe Hartzburg. Visitation will be from 1 PM to 4 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.
