Obituary of Helen Swanson Helen G. Swanson Helen Geraldine Burrows Swanson, age 101, of Bolton Brook Manor, 4554 Thomas Rd. , Metamora, MI, formerly of 127 Camp St., Jamestown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at her residence. A native of Jamestown, she was born January 17, 1917 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Swanson Burrows.

She was a 1935 graduate of the former Celoron High School. While living in Jamestown she was a member of the Camp Street United Methodist Church and U.S. Postal Carriers Auxiliary. Helen had previously been employed by the T. James Clarke Box and Label Company and the Nelson’s Department Store.

Surviving are a son, Gary M. Swanson of York, PA, a daughter, Diane L. Swanson Smith of Lapeer, MI, five grandchildren, Holly Smith McNulty and Craig Smith of Macomb, MI, Madison Smith of Lapeer, MI, Christopher Swanson and Kelsey Swanson of York, PA and five great grandchildren, Treyse Tripplehorn, Ryan McNulty, Ashlyn Smith all of Macomb, MI, Jordan Swanson, Jayleen Swanson of York, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Leonard Swanson, whom she married January 31, 1953 and who died July 8, 1998, and two brothers, Roderick Burrows of Jamestown, NY and Jerome Burrows of Calhoun, GA. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Camp Street United Methodist Church, 110 Sanford Drive, Jamestown, NY 14701.
