Obituary of Shirleyann Strand Shirleyann E. Strand, 82, of Covenant Manor, Jamestown, passed away Saturday July 21, 2018 in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born July 3, 1936 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Julius and Jeannette Johnson Goranson. Shirleyann attended Panama Schools and prior to retirement worked as an Inspector at the Rerdzt/ Center for over 30 years.

She was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. Surviving are a son, Keith A. (Sonya) Olson of Virginia; a daughter, Lorie (James) Brown of Greensboro, PA; several grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Yonkers and Lucille (William) Hall; two brothers, Paul (Delores) Goranson and Norman (Judy) Yonkers all of Jamestown; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Strand whom she married July 3, 1985 and who died March 4, 2008; three sisters, Julieanne Charles, Virginia Yonkers, and Mildred Christensen; three brothers, Marvin Yonkers Sr., Herman Carl “Bud” Yonkers Jr., and an infant, Robert Lee Yonkers.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Major John W. Merchant of the Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday (two hours prior to the service) in the funeral home.
