Peterson 70, of Menominee passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Aurora in Green Bay. He was born on April 15, 1948, to the late Howard G. and Elizabeth (Leannah) Peterson Sr. in Menominee. He graduated from Catholic Central in 1966 and attended college for a few years.

He then served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Howard worked for Menominee Paper for 32 years, retiring in 1998. He later owned and operated Pete’s Walk In.

On June 26, 1981, Howard married Cathy Wakeman in Wheaton, IL. He was a member of the DAV and VFW. He enjoyed Michigan football, the Packers, Brewers, and golf.

Howard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cathy of Menominee; son, Jeff (Jennifer) Tickler of Menominee; daughters, Laurie (Paul) Vande Ven of Little Chute and Debbie (Ryan) Ward of Green Bay; seven grandchildren: Adam (Katie) Vande Ven, Meagan Vande Ven, Branden Vande Ven, Tabetha Ward, Jacob Ward, Jeffrey Tickler, and Paige Tickler; great grandson, Luke Vande Ven; brother in law, Roger Schroeder of Green Bay; and best bud, Misty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marylou Schroeder. Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Monday, January 28th from 2-6pm.

Military Honors will be provided by the Military 20 Year Club at 6pm. Please wear your team apparel.
